James
E. Sigmon
Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Sigmon was elected TXCO's Chairman of the Board of Directors in December 2006 and has served as a Director of the company since 1984. He also served as President of TXCO from 1984 until June 2008. As an engineer, Mr. Sigmon has been active for more than 35 years in the exploration and development of oil and gas properties. Prior to joining the company, he was an engineer with Halliburton Co. and served in the management of Retamco Properties, a private oil and gas exploration company, based in San Antonio that was active in drilling wells in South Texas. He served as a Director of ExproFuels, Inc., a former subsidiary of the company, from 1994 to 1998. Mr. Sigmon received his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Gary S. Grinsfelder
President
Mr. Grinsfelder was named TXCO’s President in June 2008, responsible for land, exploration, legal and investor relations and corporation communications functions. He reports to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Earlier, he was Vice President of Exploration following TXCO's acquisition of Output Exploration LLC in April 2007. He was Executive Vice President of Exploration and Business Development with Output. Earlier, Mr. Grinsfelder was Vice President of Exploration for Triad Energy and before that worked as a geologist for Spartan Petroleum Corp. He began his oil and gas career with Union Oil Co. of California. He holds a bachelor’s degree in geology from Southern Methodist University and conducted graduate-level studies at the University of Puerto Rico and the University of Houston.

J. Bookout
Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
James
J. "Jeff" Bookout, P.E., was named TXCO’s
Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in June 2003. He
reports to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and is
responsible for drilling, production and TXCO's San Miguel oil sands project. He joined TXCO in 2002
as Operations Manager. Mr. Bookout has 25 years' experience
in exploration and production operations, serving in operations
positions with such publicly traded firms as Pioneer Natural
Resources USA Inc., Abraxas Petroleum Corp. and Venus Exploration
Inc. before coming to TXCO. He received
a Bachelor of Science degree in petroleum engineering from
Texas A&M University in 1984.

Mark Stark
Vice President, Treasurer and Chief Financial
Officer
Mr. Stark joined the company in June 2003 as Vice President, Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer, reporting to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. He oversees TXCO's accounting, finance and treasury functions. He has more than 25 years of corporate financial experience with an emphasis in the natural resource/extractive, energy service and agribusiness industries. Mr. Stark has held senior financial positions for such publicly traded firms as Dawson Production Services Inc. and Venus Exploration before coming to TXCO. He earned an MBA from Southern Methodist University and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
M. Frank Russell
Vice President and General Counsel
Mr. Russell joined TXCO in March 2006 as Vice President and General Counsel and reports to the President. He is responsible for all corporate legal matters, including acquisitions, regulatory, contracts and litigation. Prior to joining TXCO, Mr. Russell was Managing Partner of the San Antonio law firm of Barton, Schneider, Russell & East L.L.P. and previously was a shareholder in Cox & Smith Inc. and Small, Craig & Werkenthin P.C.; as well as Vice President and General Counsel of Sanchez-O’Brien Oil & Gas Corp. He has more 35 years of legal experience with an emphasis on the energy industry and corporate law, including more than 20 years as lead outside counsel to TXCO. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in government from the University of Texas at Austin in 1971 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Texas School of Law in 1973.
Roberto
R. Thomae
Vice President-Capital Markets
Corporate Secretary
Mr.
Thomae was named Vice President of Capital Markets in June
2003 with responsibility for TXCO's financial markets
and investment community contacts, investor relations and
corporate communications. He also serves as the Corporate
Secretary for TXCO and reports to the President. He has more than 30 years of experience
with Big Five accounting firms and in the financial management
of oil and gas independents. Mr. Thomae began his association
with TXCO in 1995 and was named Vice President-Finance and
Chief Financial Officer in 1996. In 1997, he was named Secretary/Treasurer.
From 1989 through 1995, Mr. Thomae was self-employed as a
management consultant involved in the development of domestic
and international oil and gas exploration projects and marketing
of refined products. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration
degree in accounting, with honors, from the University of
Texas at Austin in 1974.
Richard
A. Sartor
Controller
Mr.
Sartor has nearly 30 years of accounting and energy industry
experience. He has served as Controller of TXCO since
April 1997 and reports to the Chief Financial Officer. A Certified Public Accountant since 1980, Mr.
Sartor was with such oil and gas firms as Tesoro Petroleum,
Gulf Energy & Development and Hondo Oil & Gas, in
addition to a private accounting practice, before joining
TXCO. Mr. Sartor received a Master of Business Administration
degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1990
and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the
University of Texas at Austin in 1974.
Robert
E. Lee, Jr.
Land Manager
Mr.
Lee has more than 30 years of petroleum land management experience and reports to the President.
He began working with TXCO as a consultant in 1996,
becoming Land Manager in 1997. Mr. Lee served as Land Manager
for both Gulf Energy Producing Co. and New London Oil Co.
prior to joining TXCO, gaining experience in the South Texas
and Rocky Mountain regions. Mr. Lee received a Bachelor of
Business Administration degree in petroleum land management
from the University of Texas at Austin in 1976.
